Carry out installation, maintenance, repair, and restoration of fibre optic and telecommunications infrastructure.
Perform fibre optic cable pulling, laying, jointing, termination, and related field activities.
Assist with fibre splicing, testing, and troubleshooting under the direction of the Field Engineer.
Conduct site inspections and identify faults, damages, and potential risks.
Use tools and equipment such as OTDR, power meter, VFL, splicing machines, and other fibre-related equipment.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Respond promptly to fibre cuts, outages, and other network faults.
Ensure all assigned work orders are properly executed and closed within the required SLA.
Maintain proper records of work carried out, materials used, and site activities.
Ensure compliance with approved technical standards, safety procedures, and work instructions.
Coordinate with other field personnel, contractors, and client representatives when required.
Ensure company tools, equipment, and materials are properly handled and accounted for.
Escalate technical issues beyond their level of competence to the Field Engineer or Supervisor.
OND/HND/B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
Previous experience in fibre optic installation, maintenance, or telecommunications is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of fibre optic networks and transmission systems.
Ability to use basic fibre testing and installation tools.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work outdoors and in challenging field conditions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel to different project locations.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
