About the company

Our Client is a strategic communications and public relations agency headquartered in Lagos, with operations spanning Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We partner with brands and leaders to build reputation, drive narrative, and deliver measurable impact through integrated communications, media relations, and brand strategy.

ROLE PURPOSE

The HR & Admin Officer will support the day-to-day people and office operations, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure smooth HR processes, accurate documentation, statutory compliance, and an efficient, well-run office environment. The role is central to keeping the agency's HR administration organised, compliant, and responsive as the team grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support end-to-end recruitment: job postings, CV screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks. Prepare and manage employment documentation, including offer letters, contracts, and onboarding packs, in line with company house style.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential staff records, including personnel files, leave records, and the staff database.
  • Coordinate onboarding and induction for new hires, ensuring a smooth first-week experience.
  • Track staff leave, attendance, and other HR administrative processes.
  • Support the performance appraisal cycle, including scheduling, documentation, and consolidation of review data.
  • Assist with payroll administration inputs (attendance, leave, deductions) in coordination with Finance.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with the Labour Act, NDPA 2023, Pension Reform Act 2014, and other applicable Nigerian employment regulations.
  • Manage day-to-day office administration, including vendor coordination, procurement of office supplies, and facilities upkeep.
  • Support the Finance & Administration Manager with HMO administration, staff welfare processes, and exit/clearance procedures.
  • Handle general correspondence, filing, and administrative support for the leadership team as required.
  • Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive staff and company information.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in an HR & Administration role, ideally within a fast-paced services, agency, or corporate environment.
  • Working knowledge of Nigerian labour law and statutory HR compliance requirements.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; familiarity with HR software or payroll systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and sound judgement in handling confidential matters.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
  • A professional HR certification (e.g. CIPM, CIPD) is an advantage but not mandatory.
